Adventure calls! At the foot of the castle hill, a new treetop adventure course with around 60 stations across seven courses awaits you! Are you sure-footed and nimble, like our young stallions on the mountain pastures? Or are you a little more cautious yet curious... with a big adventurous heart and oodles of courage, like our foals? Whether you’re feeling unsure or confident, with 60 stations featuring different levels of difficulty across the various courses, you’re bound to find sections that feel right for you.

Lipikrax – the children’s course at the Piber climbing park

The ‘Lipikrax’ climbing course has been designed specially for children from the age of four (minimum height 100 cm), and they can prove their climbing skills across several stations. And for even more climbing fun, there are the ‘Favory’ and ‘Theodorosta’ courses, which children aged five and up (minimum height 110 cm) can explore!

Note:

Each visitor must read, accept and sign the terms and conditions before entering the treetop adventure course. The signed terms and conditions must be handed in to the climbing park staff on site.

FAQs

At the Lipizzaner Stud Piber climbing park, visitors have the choice of seven distinct courses. The offer ranges from a children's course designed especially for young children from the age of 4, which features a secured area at a height of about one metre, to a slightly more advanced course for novices and a further five courses for older children and adults. The final course ends in a thrilling highlight: an approx. 300-metre-long zipline, the “Flying Fox”, with intermediate plateaus and a view of the surrounding pastures. 

The park is suitable for all climbing and sports enthusiasts aged 4 and up. A minimum height of 110 cm is required for some of the stations and courses.

Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult who is actively climbing with them.

The climbing park is located at the foot of the castle hill of the Lipizzaner Stud Piber. You’ll find the shop and ticket office on the right-hand side immediately after the visitor car park. The entrance to the climbing park is on the opposite side, on the left.

You’ll be renting helmets and climbing harnesses on site. You can’t use your own equipment! Sturdy, closed shoes are mandatory to ensure a safe visit. Drinks and snacks are available to purchase on site. Any bags you bring along can be stored in lockers provided for this purpose at your own risk.

You’ll be asked to read and sign the terms and conditions of use before entering the climbing park. You’ll also be asked to take part in a short training session.

  • First training session: 09.45 am, last training session 2.45 pm.
  • Summer vacation (June 28 to September 7):  First training session: 9.45 am, last training session 5.15 pm

Tickets can be purchased at the ticket shop checkout up to five minutes before the start of any training session. The last possible ticket purchase is at 2.40 pm (5.10 pm during summer vacation June 28 to September 7). the climbing equipment is issued afterwards in the immediate vicinity of the checkout.

The climbing equipment must be returned to the shop by the end of opening hours.

Tickets can be purchased on site at the ticket shop. Advance reservations by email or telephone are mandatory for groups of 20 or more people.

Parking

At the foot of the hill of the Piber Castle and Stud Farm there are sufficient parking spaces for visitors and buses. Please take into account the 5-10 minute walk from the car park to the stud!

Visit with children

The stud farm is barrier-free, making it possible to visit with a baby carriage. There is also a changing table in the ladies' toilet in Piber Castle.

Visit with the four-legged friend

Dogs are welcome at the stud farm, whether it’s on an independent visit or on a guided tour!

However, please note: In the inner area of the stud farm, dogs must always be kept on a short lead. Dogs are not permitted at events held on stud grounds (e. g. the Spring Celebration) or on alpine pasture tours!

Parking

There is a disabled parking space at the top of the hill, to the left of the entrance to the inner stud farm area (turnstile), opposite the granary (museum). Further wheelchair-accessible parking spaces are located in the visitor car park at the foot of Castle Hill.

Toilets

Disabled toilets are available at Piber Castle, in the treetop adventure course ticket shop and on the grounds of the Piber Arena.

Special offers for people with disabilities

The stud farm can be visited in a wheelchair. However, there are slight inclines and slopes, so we recommend a visit with a companion.
