LONDON
UK Tour of the Spanish Riding School
The world-famous performances of the Spanish Riding School – the “Ballet of the White Stallions” – usually take place in the magnificent baroque Winter Riding School, built from 1729 to 1735 under Charles VI and often described as the most beautiful riding arena in the world.
For the riders and their stallions, it is an exciting adventure to go on tour together and to present the High School of Classical Horsemanship internationally.
The performances are the result of many years of training and intensive work by the riders and their Lipizzaners. In seven program points, the fully trained school stallions enchant the audience with their unique skills – in the "Schools on or above the ground", in the "Pas de Deux" or in the famous "Schoolquadrille", in which eight riders and their stallions present a complex choreography in absolute symmetry and harmony.
The Spanish Riding School’s team is already familiar with London's OVO Arena Wembley: Their last performance here took place in 2016 and amazed the UK audiences. After eight years, the Spanish Riding School team is now looking forward to a brilliant return and to fascinate its UK audience again with equestrian art of the highest degree.
The British royal family is also a fan of the Spanish Riding School: Queen Elizabeth II was so fond of the talented Lipizzaners that during her only official trip to Austria, she not only visited the Riding School in Vienna, but also the associated stud farm in Piber.
